Last updated: February 4, 2024

Continuing Legal Education Credit (CLE): Tech Contracts Academy is an approved CLE provider in California. And we can give you resources to help self-submit in other jurisdictions.

In 2023-2024, CA CLE is available for the following Tech Contracts Academy programs:

  1. Tech Contracts Master Classes™ (public), 2 hours CA CLE* each.
  2. Tech Contracts Academy Webinars (public) 1 hour CA CLE* each (unless otherwise noted).
  3. In-House Trainings: Contact [email protected] to discuss potential CA CLE for private trainings. (Additional fees may be required).
  4. Tech Contracts Academy On-Demand (public), library of select pre-recorded trainings, conveniently broken down into concise, topic or contract clause driven chapters: 1 hour CA CLE* for webinars, 2 hours CA CLE* for each Master Class (unless otherwise noted). Exception(s):
    1. The Indeminar: Indemnities in IT Contracts (webinar, original broadcast Sept. 22, 2022) – CA CLE 1.5 hours.
    2. Key Liability Terms in Contracts about AI, the Cloud, and other Software: Warranty, Indemnity, Limit of Liability, and More (webinar, original broadcast Oct. 12, 2023) – CA CLE 1.5 hours.

  • Tech Contracts Academy programs’ CA CLE is for general, not subfield credit (e.g., not ethics).
  • Among other supporting materials, we provide CA-styled attendance certificates, evaluation forms, and attendance verification codes. Credit for attending live programs is “participatory”; for watching recordings, “self-study.”
  • For our record-keeping, we ask CA attorneys intending to make use of CA CLE to provide us their CA Bar numbers. Students remain responsible for their CLE record-keeping (e.g., tracking whether they attended live or watched a recording) and their compliance with all Bar reporting requirements.
  • Where David Tollen participates in programs arranged by (or collaboratively with) entities other than Tech Contracts Academy, check with those other entities to determine if they arranged for CLE. Tech Contracts Academy is not responsible for CLE for such programs.

Licensed outside California? Jurisdictions (and professions) differ as to whether students may seek credit via reciprocity/comity, apply for credit on their own, and if so what is required (including fees). We make resources available meant to support students’ self-submission/reciprocity efforts with their jurisdictions’ governing body(ies). We provide certificates of attendance, the program slides, and attendance verification codes. And our presenter’s biography is available on our website. Students are responsible for any self-submission efforts (and fees). (Sadly, self-submission credit is not guaranteed.)
