Master Classes available this fall

This fall, Tech Contracts Academy offers two series of Tech Contracts Master Classes – four classes each series, two hours per class. And three webinars – one each in September, October, and November.  We’re addressing generative and other AI issues in our programs, including the Master Classes – and on August 17, a complimentary LinkedIn Live conversation, Contracts about Generative AI: An Issue-Spotter. (Recording available afterward on LinkedIn). Join industry expert David Tollen, and build your contracting skills.

Fall Tech Contracts Master Class Series

Taken together, our four Tech Contracts Master Classes will prepare you to negotiate contracts about software, cloud services, and professional services more confidently and efficiently, and help you avoid common pitfalls. And, we’ve added new content about AI contracts: Wondering about IP rights in outputs, training data and prompts? Liability for errors (“hallucinations”), infringement, and misuse of private information? Join David Tollen to explore these and other key tech contracting topics (examples below).

Our September series runs Thursdays from Sept. 7-28; our Nov/Dec series runs Tuesdays from Nov. 7-Dec. 5 (no class the week of Thanksgiving). Conveniently available via distance learning (with recordings available afterward on request, for a limited time), each class is two hours, and includes Q&A.

Most students choose to take all four classes (with an automatic series discount). (And there’s also a 10% discount available to company teams of 5 or more). But classes are also available to purchase individually.

Prime Clauses (Sept. 7/Nov. 7): The central promise and transaction in contracts about software, AI, cloud computing and other forms of IT (the promise of cloud services; license to on-premise software; promise of professional services). Frequently, contracts have a combination. And … the promise to pay.

General Clauses (Sept. 14/Nov. 14): Commercial clauses (such as technical specifications, SLAs, business continuity and disaster recovery, non-disclosure) and data clauses (including location, security, incidents, privacy, audits).

Key Liability Terms (Sept. 21/Nov. 28): Warranties, indemnities, limits of liability, provider liability for 3rd parties, and liquidated damages.

End-Game & Special Clauses (Sept. 28/Dec. 5): Term & termination; transition and deconversion of AI and cloud data; non-solicits and noncompetes; dispute management, mediation, arbitration, waiver of class actions, jury trials; ancillary IP terms; supporting “boilerplate” clauses; open source software.

We hope you will join us.
